Warangi Ridge, Serengeti (Tanzania) – When Wilderness Meets Craft

A New Chapter in the Serengeti
Nestled in the iconic Central Serengeti, Warangi Ridge is more than a lodge — it is a sanctuary. Designed by Internationally known Designer Les Harbottle, the camp draws inspiration from the granite kopjes nearby and the rare, endangered pangolin.
Warangi Ridge is the first high-end lodge ever permitted in TANAPA’s restricted Research Area — a zone once reserved only for rangers and scientists. Opening July 2025 under The Wilderness Collection, the lodge offers fifteen beautifully appointed luxury tented suites, each with private plunge pools, outdoor showers, fireplaces, and options for families with interlinked rooms.

Your Dream, Our Craft
For us, furniture is never just an object. It is a companion, a memory, a bridge between people and place.

The Collaboration
Together with Les Harbottle and his team, we began with a conversation before a single tent was built. Standing on the raw earth, he shared his vision for a camp was designed around animal pathways that have existed for centuries, we understood that every piece had to serve not only the guests but also the spirit of place.
When our team was invited to furnish of Warangi Ridge, our role was clear: to assist and consult in bringing Les’s design vision to life. Not to impose, but to complement — with pieces that belonged as naturally to the camp as the landscape itself.
Over ten months of collaboration, we explored materials, finishes, and moods that could both reflect the natural drama of the Serengeti and respect its subtle quiet. Each design question — from “Can this sofa withstand semi-outdoor conditions?” to “What kind of lounge belongs at sunset, overlooking the plains?” — was answered not with convenience, but with care.

From Craft to Atmosphere

The result is a collection of indoor and outdoor loose furniture created specifically for Warangi Ridge:
• Reception Lounge – Sofas and armchairs that set the tone of welcome, anchoring guests as they arrive from the bush.
• Dining Area – Pieces that hold both candlelit dinners and laughter-filled breakfasts before game drives.
• Bar & Semi-Outdoor Sunset Deck – Seating designed for long conversations and quiet reflection against an endless horizon.
• Firepit Deck – Outdoor sofas and lounge seating arranged around the fire, crafted for warmth and gathering as the Serengeti sky turns gold to indigo. Built to endure the elements yet designed for connection — where flames flicker, stories unfold, and the horizon stretches endlessly beyond.
• Guest Suites – Sofas, armchairs, and even work chairs crafted for privacy, comfort, and the rhythm of slow living.
Every item was delivered not just as furniture, but as a gift unwrapped — carefully packed, lovingly transported. The client described the experience of unpacking each piece as “like opening presents.”

The Challenge of the Wild
Getting there was not easy. Containers could not reach the restricted area, so every item had to be loaded into smaller vehicles and driven through rugged terrain to reach the lodge.
But this challenge was also the beauty: it meant every piece had to be designed, packed, and transported with foresight and precision. What could have been an obstacle became proof of our philosophy — that craft is not only in how we build, but in how we bring visions to life, no matter how remote.

Respect for Land and People
For our team, the Serengeti was not just another project. It was a lesson in humility.
The land belongs first to the animals who roam it, and to the Masaii people who have lived here for generations. Our task was not to impose, but to coexist — to craft furniture that belongs in silence as much as in celebration.

Thank You for Trusting Us
We are deeply honoured to have been part of Warangi Ridge, a project where luxury is defined by respect — for nature, for culture, and for every guest who will one day call this lodge their home, if only for a few nights.
